rlinetd Home Page

rlinetd 0.5.1 is now available

Note that it has at least one major known bug. This being with nmbd. The problem occurs after a config reload, and boils down to the fact that rlinetd discards all state information (including the number of instances running) across a reload.

If an nmbd is already running, and a reload is performed, rlinetd will forget this fact. rlinetd will then proceed to bind a new UDP socket to the appropriate port. Sooner or later, some traffic will cause rlinetd to run a second nmbd. This new nmbd will immediately notice that there's another one running, and exit... without reading the data from the UDP socket. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Anyhow, on with the web page.

Welcome to rlinetd. Here's a quick feature blurb for the creature.

Things you'll probably want to have lying around for the build include

If you need help, company, or just have a thing about mailing lists, there's one set up for rlinetd too.
